Finca Rio Perla is a farm located in a countryside paradise in Costa Rica.  We are located between San Jose and Limon, close to towns Alegria and Siquirres, near to Earth University and rafting on the Pacuare River. We are hooked into national/municipal water, electricity, telephone and internet systems.Thus, are both remote and connected.

Finca Rio Perla has many farm activities (e.g. cattle, sheep, chickens, vegetable gardens, cheese making, and egg collection) waterfalls and natural pools, horseback riding, nature walks, and other adventures in a natural setting. We offer traditional Tico food that is primarily vegetarian with dairy and eggs, and also tilapia from the farm.

Our amazing (yes, AMAZING) waterfalls and natural pools are breathtaking...relaxing, refreshing, and rejuvenating. Go horseback riding, hiking to waterfalls, swim in our natural ponds, go fishing in the tilapia ponds, view/listen to the many birds, take a walk through the fields, or sit back and relax.

Your visit at Finca Rio Perla will be hosted by a Tico family (Efrain & Vivian) which provides a unique opportunity to explore, experience, and connect with the authentic Costa Rica. A great opportunity to learn and/or practice Spanish!!! A great opportunity to learn and/or practice Tico cooking.

Farm Stay as a Volunteer/Intern: if you are interested in working on the farm Finca Rio Perla Farm Experience offers a hands-on experience that will be tailored to your interests and skills. If you have special farm-related skills please let us know. The mission of the Finca Rio Perla Volunteer/Intern Program is to provide a real Costa Rican farming experience in a beautiful natural setting.

Writer/Artist/Meditation “Retreat”: if you are a writer, and/or artist, and/or spiritual person, group in search of a peaceful, pleasant, private place to get away from the hustle and bustle and chill in a natural setting, the Finca Rio Perla Retreat Experience is ideal. You can stay in the Posada Rustica with our Tico family, or have the Casa Central as you own private paradise. Meals and activities can be provided. The mission of Finca Rio Perla Retreat Experience is to provide a place for individuals, couples, or small groups to clear their minds and support creative processes.
